I only look towards you: Review of [151127] Bokuha kimi dakewo mitsumeru (Remake)

Foreword: For the person who expected an Astral Air Review, apologies!

Now that formal apologies are out of the way (lolsorrynotsorry), let’s get to this title, titled “Boku ha kimi dake wo mitsumeru”, which is from a company called Inre that you might know from ChuShinGura series. With a bit more expectation, I approached this title and found it to be fairly decent, but also lacking in a couple of places that I hope to discuss in the review. In general, both the story and character design was nicely done, but something was missing with both of them, making this game fall a bit.

Though on the other hand, there are action scenes within this game that display “movements” (no E-mote) via transition of images, really amplifying the “visual” elements. This was a nice thing I hope to also discuss further down below.

The surprising thing about this game is that it’s actually a remake! I did not realize this until I checked Getchu and VNDB and found that it was indeed a remake of an older unofficial title that was released almost 10 years ago with a different artist. They even changed the character design of a couple of them (e.g. Ria), which was quite interesting.

MILD SPOILERS ARE PRESENT IN THIS REVIEW! PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Game Type: Kinetic Romance Novel with various themes

Summary: Takumi was once a fierce leader of the Sabel Tigers who were a group of young men dedicating themselves to justice. They even captured and punished a serial rapist named Killer Joe and were even deemed more capable than even the police. However, half a year has passed since “that incident” that tore up the group and left Takumi alone and at risk of being killed. He lives alone in an abandoned building with nothing to hope for and nothing to do.

It’s then when he receives a message from someone named Shion who seems to know a lot about his past. She seems to have a job for him, which was something he needed as he was getting very low on money. This starts him on the chain of fate that leads him to a girl named Towa and changes his life forever.

These two subcharacters appear in the beginning scenes to “direct” Takumi to Towa, and aren’t considered heroines

We have no Wings, no Hope, and no Future. Review of [090130]Oretachi ni Tsubasa ha nai

Foreword: Well, this is quite an old game! As I’ve stated in the previous review, Oretsuba is actually the SECOND non-translated game I’ve played in my eroge career (the first being a Yuzusoft title). Obviously at the time, I wasn’t exactly sure of what the game was talking about since this is a Navel game actually slightly more complicated and possibly harder to comprehend.

But that’s not the case this time around! I have 5 years of experience and counting! Along with how there was an anime series focusing on more of the important points (plus blatant fanservice … … …), I’ll also discuss this game’s after-story as well.

For this reason, mild spoilers are included. Sorry!

Oretsuba itself is very unique in the sense it literally has 5 protagonists of varying personalities. Not many games actually have this kind of setting, and I’ll be placing each protagonist with their respective heroine within the review.

Title: 俺たちに翼はない (Oretachi ni tsubasa ha nai) [Lit. Trans: We do not have wings]
Producers: Navel
Release Date: January 30, 2009
VNDB Link: https://vndb.org/v1141
Getchu Link: http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=526725
Game Type: Slice of Life novel with themes of “life and reality”

Summary: Yanagihara is a mysterious place, but in reality, this individual named Haneda Takashi is actually a more interesting individual. While he’s very quiet, he seems to hold a secret that no one else knows. This is including how he’s dating the school’s prettiest girl, Watarai Asuka.

“Why Hello Sueko (Youngest Brother)!”
“Good afternoon, Mr. Death God!”
“…So who the hell are you?”

But this story is not about him. It’s about the 5 wingless brothers who are continuously oppressed from the winged people. It’s their story of hating society, the real world, and life itself.

The Future for Vampires: Review of [120330] Dracu-Riot!

Foreword: Alright, who’s the derphead who told me this game was the best Yuzusoft game? YOU LIED TO ME.

Yeah, so after having played a couple of Yuzusoft’s games, I got my hands on what was said to be the “best” of Yuzusoft games, but…

Nope, it didn’t turn out good.
In retrospect, the beginning is indeed very good, and even the flow throughout is excellent. It’s just that like all the other typical charage out there, it loses its focus and in the majority of routes, rushes the romance between the characters, then in the end, uses a very convenient mechanism to solve the conflict that’s at hand.

I’ll try to get to both this game’s goods and bads. Scroll down for the review for Dracu Riot.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Game Type: Fantasy Mystery Novel with themes of Vampires

Summary: Yuuto and his friend is traveling to the famous “Aqua Eden”, well known for its Las Vegas-like conditions (pretty sure that’s where the authors themselves got the setting from, too), after winning a travel ticket from sheer luck. Both of them are excited to experience this mystical land, with each of them their own reasons.

As they arrive, they realize that without a tour guide, they’re pretty much lost. Finally asking a random girl for help, the kind girl who introduces herself as Miu leads them to the “prostitution” store they (well, not for Yuuto, since he didn’t have enough money) were looking for, but after she departs, they soon hear her scream off in the distance.

Yuuto thinks fast and follows the car that kidnaps their temporary tour guide and end up at a storage near the port. Unfortunately for him, his plan to save the girl is foiled with one of the kidnappers noticing he was there. Now with his life destined to end, the girl who is tied next to him looks at his face and says

“I won’t let you die”

Wow! So cool!
