Summer is a Season of Fun and Happiness! Review of [130830]Aozora Stripe

Foreword: A long time without a review! Most of my life is filled with MMOs nowadays, considering I’ve spent 60 bucks to purchase the Founder’s Pack for a game called “Revelation Online”, so that’s going to occupy me for quite a while. Newer releases haven’t really been tickling my fancy either, and I’m really just going through backlog unless there’s a request for a review for a specific game.

I actually thought quite hard about what I should do with Irotoridori Sekai, and ultimately decided to drop the game. I’ve already finished Kana’s story and thought it was deep and complex, but was put off with the excessive ambiguity, length, and inability to become immersed in the story. I MAY come back to it when I have time in the future (which I don’t see happening, quite unfortunately), but considering the bone-carving pain I’ve had with Astral Air in the past, all Irotori is giving me is that same impression which is biasing me anyways.

On to the review of this title! Quite a fun and light-hearted charage, it was on my backlog for quite a while and something I really needed since it was suitable to be played alongside my MMOs. Story was surprisingly well written as a charage, which threw me off in the beginning, but I’ll make sure to explain both the goods and bads of this game in the review.

The Innocence of Child’s Play: Review of [151127] Kodomo no Asobi

Foreword: As surprising at it is, it’s actually quite tiring to be pessimistic all the time (Unbelievable, right?). This is why it’s not a bad idea to be a bit optimistic. For example: instead of complaining about the negative Celsius weather, instead tell yourself at least it’s not negative Fahrenheit weather!

And this was essentially what I was telling myself as I finished Kodomo no Asobi, Lump of Sugar’s most recent game. As what’s considered to be their “10th anniversary game”, Kodomo no Asobi actually had FOUR artists AND scenario writers. Talk about pushing the budget!

Now as you’ve probably been able to tell already, and with my previous rants at LoS games, Yes. This wasn’t a good game. Instead of complaining about it, however, I decided to look at Rensou Relation and how it was actually insulting because it spits out retarded theories about romance when the entire game was literally a meet-and-fuck game, and was able to say “Well, this isn’t too bad” for Kodomo no Asobi.

At least… for a while. My patience wore thin and by the time I finished this game, and my face was similar to the following gif:

Let’s see what exactly pissed me off from this game, shall we?

Summary: “Now Choose!”

These were the words that Kiyosumi hates the most, since he’s someone who hates being pressured into doing something. He has had this “curse” for as long as he remembers, when he is asked to choose, time would stop and won’t start moving again until he actually made a “decision”. This was why he prefers not to interact with anyone if possible.

It was another typical day, however, as a girl in a strange outfit appeared to him. She introduced herself as Seera, and actually a demon who has met Kiyosumi before. If that wasn’t enough, she flat out comes toward him and confesses to him! Completely caught off-guard by the sudden confession, Kiyosumi soon finds out that this “affection” doesn’t actually belong to Seera; she received it from someone during a ritual that Kiyosumi performed when he was a kid. Seera came to Kiyosumi as an effort to “return” this affection to the owner.

Story Length: Moderately Long (25 hours)
Complete Story Clearing Difficulty: Moderate
Comments: Four routes in total, two of them are quite easy. The other two, for Seera and Yuzuriha, are slightly more difficult to achieve and readers may need a walkthrough. To be honest, I think this game had a lot of “fillers” despite the fact the common route involved a lot of unique traits. I think this is mainly because the entire game really only HAD this “unique ritual” to offer aside from other typical charage, and once the ritual was actually over and irrelevant to the story, things just started to go downhill from there.

What “Romance” is made of; Review of [150529]Rensou Relation

Foreword: It’s been one freaking month since I even posted anything on this blog, and I actually have no great excuse  for it. MMORPG hobbies have been revived (although that’s fluctuating quite a bit), and I was also in the process of playing some older titles I’ve finished in the past. This is why you’ll see this review, as well as TWO more reviews very soon about older titles that I’ve replayed recently.

As for this title, Rensou Relation, long story short it sucks. It sucks so much, that I deserve a freaking trophy for even finishing this. I wanted to drop it soooo badly, but couldn’t because it was a LoS title, and with tears of mental pain rolling down my cheeks at the moment, I frantically type this review in hopes of eliminating this nightmare of a game from my synapse and moving on to HOPEFULLY some better games. Fortunately, I have new nukige ready to go as well as another Favorite game that I’m touching with extreme caution.

Please excuse me even if my review is very short and crappy. Here it is!

Please be warned that this review DOES contain minor spoilers

Title: 恋想リレーション (Rensou Relation) [Lit. Trans: Relation of the Love-feelings]
Producers: Lump of Sugar
Release Date: May 29, 2015
VNDB Link: https://vndb.org/v16458
Getchu Link: http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=840913
Game Type: School-life romance comedy novel (FYI, I HATE this genre with a burning passion)

Summary: Shinnosuke is actually quite unintelligent. After failing so many entrance exams and pretty much losing out even on his last-line options, it seems that he will be the only one literally a “ronin” even as one in high-school. With family and friends worrying about him, his teacher from the old school calls him for a Last Chance: the school of Amami (What the Fuck; this name is used so often) is offering a Special Entrance Interview to selected individuals, and if he can pass this interview, he’ll be admitted.

With his last ditch effort, he makes his preparations for this interview. However, this isn’t until in the school itself, he meets a mysterious girl who just came out of the bathroom. From this point, Shinnosuke’s story and “Relation” begins.
